Little did I know we have such control over our destiny because I simply refused to die that day when my brand new Ford Escort hydroplaned off of a slippery wet pavement highway ramp in South Chicago coming from work.

My thoughts at that exact moment when I knew I was going to go off that mountain ramp was “Dear God, I can’t die, I have too much to do still.” That has been my life theme ever since that moment.
